About

I’m a back-at-work mom still making the transition from working woman to native mother. This journey is different for every mother, but I’m here to share my experiences, trials and successes with others.

I live in San Diego with my husband, one-year-old daughter and our American Bulldog Alex. I handle the bookkeeping for our family business in the daytime and enjoy time with my baby girl in the evenings. This time usually involves chasing Miss Toddleness around the house, picking her down off the dining room table, and singing, dancing and reading together.

After she goes to sleep, I bust a groove at the gym, and spend some time spinning (yarn, not more exercise.) Occasionally I knit something with my crazy stash.

I am in love with the idea of making at home what I can, starting higher up the production chain to save money, put real love and elbow grease into the products and foods I use, and know what’s in them. It’s not a perfect system, but I’m learning and exploring what’s reasonable within the framework of my life, finding out what balances well with the lifelong committment to Being a Mom.

This is a work in progress.
