dooce®: rantiest link ever, but you should read it

Containing a capital letter or two | dooce®.

I am not a regular Dooce reader, but I think that this story about customer service, the power of the consumer and the internet, the serious situation that is sleep deprivation in new mothers, and channeling these forces for the good of humanity; needs to be read, and widely.

Wow. The next time I want to make a tiny little comment on life that I know my mother-in-law will attack me for and badmouth me to everyone with an internet connection and/or phone, I am going to use that to couch it in with a little bit of that good ol’ cut & paste.

I love this, and I haaaaate shitty customer service, and this woman seems to generally rule. But the one thing that bothered me was:
“And in the meantime, how am I supposed to get my laundry done?”
Ummm… go to a laundromat? Her husband is clearly around and involved, so even if she is somehow unable to leave the house with a child in tow, she can leave him with the baby or make him go do the laundry. I get that she really shouldn’t have to schlep her laundry to a laundromat when she owns a washing machine, but that doesn’t change the fact that she does, in fact, have the ability to make laundry happen.
